Avoid These Vocabulary Problems
- Do not force a word into a sentence if you are unsure how it combines with other words.
- Do not memorize only a translation; connect the word to an English definition and example.
- Do not collect too many new words at once. A smaller set used repeatedly is more valuable.
- Review vocabulary over several days instead of doing one long session.
Practice Routine
- Read the target word and explain it without looking at the definition.
- Say one common phrase that contains the word.
